A stunning pair of vessel earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These gorgeous earrings are crafted in sterling silver, which is unusual given their design and era. Each earring dangles five graduated vessel-shaped links from a gorgeous v-shaped surmount, creating a fabulous eye-catching design. Embellishing the base of each link is delicate bead detail, adding a lovely feminine touch. The surmount is embellished with a fabulous twisted rope design on the front surface, providing a wonderful textured appeal next to the smoothly polished links. Finishing the piece is a relatively large round sphere that rests perfectly atop the v-shaped link, and attached at the top is a simple earring wire with a secure rubber backing. Despite their substantial appearance, the earrings are hollow and lightweight for comfortable wear. They frame the face beautifully and dangle with lovely movement, these earrings would make a wonderful and unique addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 3/8" long (including the wire at the top), is 3/4" wide, and about 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the sterling silver setting. The earring wires are both secure and in good working condition. There are a minor holes on the back of each hanging link, which are original to the design and allow for the hollow construction of the earrings.
