Victorian Sterling Silver Love Token Coin Compilation Necklace

SKU: 42648

$795

A beautiful necklace comprised of seven love token coins from the Victorian (ca1880-1900s) era! Love tokens are common coins which have been hand-engraved after the minting process, usually with sentimental messages. This piece features seven silver coins each decorated with a unique engraving. The first coin displays an elaborate monogram, "BMH" with a waterfront scene encompassing four birds and a sailing ship on the back. Four of the coins are Seated Liberty Dimes (1888, 1888, 1884, and 1885" respectively minted 1837-1891), one of which has a "WAH" monogram, one reads "SARA", another "Clara", and the final, an "IBH" monogram. The sixth coin, a one crown coin with the mature bust of Queen Victoria (undated, minted 1893-1901), reads "KATE" and the final seventh coin reads a simple "'86" on one side with an "IS" monogram on the other. The seven silver tokens hang from jump rings connected to a delicate modern chain, marked "925" on its lobster clasp. This necklace has a wonderful look when worn and would be a fantastic gift for anyone who is collecting a lifetime of wealth in love!

Measurements: The necklace measures 18" long. The coins range in diameter from about 18mm for the Seated Liberty Dimes and 16mm for the one crown coins, 17.5mm for the waterfront scene, and 16.25mm on the "'86".

Condition: The necklace and its tokens all remain in excellent overall condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver settings. The chain and its matching lobster clasp are secure and in good working condition.
