A bold vintage black opal pendant necklace from the 1940s era! This 14k gold necklace consists of a simple chain with one saw-tooth bezel-set black opal at the center, weighing approximately 5ct. The ellipse-shaped opal boasts dark blue hues with flashes of green, orange, and purple. The bezel is marked on the back "14k", and the chain is hanging from two, small soldered loops at the top of the bezel. The chain fastens securely with a simple gold lobster clasp. This is a fabulous opal and it would make a tremendous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 17" long. The opal pendant measures 3/4" long, and just under 1/2" wide. The opal pendant has a profile of 1/2".
Condition: Besides normal surface wear, this pendant necklace is in excellent overall condition. There is a natural inclusion at the bottom of the opal, however, this is not visible when the necklace is worn.
