Vintage 14kt Cherub + Gemstone "DEAREST" Acrostic Pendant
This Vintage pendant from the 1950s features a lovely acrostic message! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold, this round piece features a variety of colorful gemstones decorating the edge in an arched formation. The first letters of each stone's name spell out the word "DEAREST," making the pendant part of a sentimental acrostic tradition! In sequential order, the prong set stones include: a Diamond, an Emerald, an Amethyst, a Ruby, a second Emerald, a Sapphire, and a Topaz. The faceted gems catch the light beautifully with every turn, and their colors come alive against the fine textured background of the piece. Resting across from the stones is a romantic 3-dimensional cherub, holding a heart-shaped garnet stone within its hands. The prong-set stone is beautifully faceted and larger than the other stones, exhibiting a lovely deep, purplish red color. Finishing the design is a soft etched border along the perimeter of the pendant, and a simple round bail at the top, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain or charm bracelet. Decorating the smoothly polished back is a wonderful personal message written in a beautiful script, "May all your Birthdays be happy ones love Al, Bonnie, Jackie 5-16-59" atop a "14K" gold purity mark and maker's mark. This message, could easily be polished of and left blank or replaced with a new personal message if desired. A fantastic and sentimental piece, this stylish pendant would make a romantic gift for someone special!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 5/8" long (including the bail at the top), measures 1 3/8" in diameter, and is about 3/8" thick.
