Vintage 18kt Carved Coral & Diamond Figural Pendant
A fabulous and very artistic Vintage coral pendant from the 1970's! This striking figural piece is set in vibrant 18kt yellow gold and is made of hand carved coral. The pendant is likely of Asian origin, and depicts a man- possibly Buddha- wearing a traditional Asian sun hat, which has a conical shape and is crafted in yellow gold. The hand-carved figure is three-dimensional and incredibly detailed, including a smiling expression, draped fabric clothing, and a fan clasped in one hand. Around the man's neck is a necklace made of twisted yellow gold wire and a bezel set diamond at the center, adding a lovely sparkle. The man's feet are perched atop an oval-shaped gold base, which forms a smooth seal on the bottom. Attached to the tip of the sun hat is a gold loop and bail stamped "18K", making it easy to hang and wear the piece from a favorite gold chain. It's a wonderful handmade piece and would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 1/2" long, measures approximately 5/8" wide, and 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, carved coral, or diamond stone, and the bail is secure and intact.
