Vintage Sterling Silver Opaline Crystal Dangle Earrings
The term "opaline" refers to many forms of opaque and colored glass. The glass is either opaque or slightly translucent and can appear either white or brightly colored in shades of green, blue, pink, lavender and yellow.
A beautiful pair of Vintage opaline earrings from the 1950s era! Crafted in sterling silver, each of these striking earrings has a sparkling appearance with a very unique design. Dangling from the bottom is a milky blue glass ring which has a striking faceted surface. The hoop is grasped by a floral-like silver link which hangs from a single opaline glass surmount, attaching to a sterling earring wire. The opaline crystals display marvelous translucent milky blue hues and their facets beautifully catch the light with every turn. The back of each connector link is stamped "STERLING." Perfect earrings for day or night wear, they would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each crystal earring hangs approximately 2 1/8" long (including the wire). The opaline crystal hoop measures 1" in diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or to the opaline crystals. Both of the earring wires and surmounts are secure and intact.
