A delightful pendant from the Art Nouveau (ca1910s) era! Crafted in silver gilt, this pendant depicts a purple pansy flower with lovely yellow accents. The handpainted piece is riveted to a matching piece, sliding to reveal a round mirror encircled by a twisted rope motif. The backside of the enameled pansy reads "800", indicating its silver content, and a large bail readies it to be worn on a favorite chain. Gifting pansies is a gesture of friendship and platonic love and would make for a wonderful gift for someone special.
Measurements: The pendant measures approximately 1 5/8" tall, including the bail. It is 1 5/16" wide and an overall 5/32" deep. The mirror is approximately 1 1/4" in diameter.
Condition: The pendant is in very good condition. There is some wear to the silver gilt, notably where the pendant slides open. The enamel and the mirror are both fully intact, free of chips and scratches. The rivet and bail are secure and in good working condition.
