Exquisite Victorian (ca1880) Rose Cut diamond earrings! These incredible earrings are made 14kt gold topped with sterling silver and are dripping with sparkling old Rose Cut diamond stones. Each earring begins with a single belcher set Rose Cut diamond surmount that attaches to the sterling silver wire. Dangling from the stone is a flower-like cluster of 8 additional diamonds, all belcher set in silver topped gold. An accenting 14kt gold arc rests atop the cluster with 5 small Rose Cut stones set within it. At the bottom of the cluster are 2 more 14kt gold tabs that have a single diamond set in each. Dangling from the bottom is a single belcher set diamond that is again, belcher set in sterling topped gold. Fabulous and large Victorian Rose Cut diamond earrings have become very hard to find and these are particularly magnificent! They would be absolutely perfect for a special occasion!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2 1/8" long at the longest point, slightly more than 3/4" at the widest point and has a depth of approximately 1/2".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is great. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and gold setting or wires. All of the diamonds are intact, however, due to the delicate nature and age, there is some minor damage to the rose cut diamonds; this wear is not unusual for Victorian jewelry and does not detract from the beauty of the earrings.
