A gorgeous beaded moonstone necklace from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This stunning piece is comprised of one long strand of vibrant moonstone beads, which are smoothly polished, and come together at a diamond encrusted platinum clasp. The moonstone beads graduate in size with the largest beads at the center and the smallest towards the back, and each displays a pale blue color with an iridescent flash and lovely translucent quality. The beads are hand strung on light blue thread, meeting at a platinum oval-shaped push clasp at the back. Nine sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds adorn the ornate filigree clasp, with eight of the prong set stones surrounding a bezel set stone at the center. The length of the necklace allows it to be worn long or doubled up to showcase the incredible clasp at the front, if desired. A stunning and versatile piece, it would make a perfect everyday accessory and make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 31.5" long. The beads graduate in size, with the smallest bead measuring 3.75mm in diameter, and the largest bead measuring 7.5mm in diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum clasp, moonstone beads, or diamonds all of which are secure and intact. The stringing is secure, and the clasp is in good working order.
