Arts & Craft Shakudo Mixed Metals Multi Link Bracelet

SKU: MWKF3

$1,895

Shakudo is the use of mixed metal alloys and was originally used in Japanese armor and swords. Artisans would sometimes remove the Shakudo plaques from the armor and incorporate it into jewelry or art. It has become very collectible and quite unusual.

This beautiful bracelet from the Arts & Craft (ca1900) era is an incredible example of the Shakudo art form! The unusual design is comprised of 8 elongated links, each with its own unique mixed metals design. Multiple Japanese motifs are depicted among the links.  The mixed hues of the various metals look wonderful against the dark matte background, and bring each image to life! In between each link are jump ring connectors, ending with a push clasp disguised within the final link. A safety chain provides additional security when worn. A wonderful work of art, this gorgeous and very unusual multi-link Shakudo bracelet is quite substantial, and would make a marvelous addition to any collection!

Measurements: The bracelet measures approximately 7" long, and would fit nicely on a medium/average sized wrist. The Shakudo links vary in size, with the largest measuring approximately 1 3/8" long, 5/8" wide and 1/4" thick. The smallest link measures roughly 1 3/16" long, 5/8" wide and 1/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the setting. All of the Shakudo plaques are intact and securely mounted. The clasp and safety chain are secure and in good working condition.
