A fabulous fancy watch chain necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k rosy yellow gold, this chain is comprised of elongated three-dimensional fanciful links that alternate with sections of oversized chain and shorter fancy sections. The elongated links and the shorter round links are a "cage" style featuring a hollow center with clean linear detail and gold bead accents. The elongated links boast a zig-zag wirework pattern that is just so visually pleasing and intricate. The chain features a pendant drop hanging from one of the shorter fancy links and a fully functional swivel clip to hang a pendant or watch from. The chain comes together at the back with a simple dog clip closure. Bold and stylish, this chain necklace would be a wonderful addition to a Victorian collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 16 1/2" in length. The pendant drop measures 1 3/4" long. The piece has a weight of 30.4dwt.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the clips are secure and in good working condition. There is a file mark on one of the elongated links situated towards the back of the necklace, however this cannot be seen when worn.
