Victorian 18kt/14kt + Micro Mosaic Urn Dangle Earrings

SKU: 44459

$8,995

A breathtaking pair of earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, these earrings begin with a simple 14kt earring wire atop a micromosaic surmount. The surmount displays concentric patterns of red, white, blue, and black tiles, coming to a dainty white floral burst in its center.  Two links hang from the surmount to carry an elaborately decorated urn by its geometric handles. Each urn exhibits minuscule tiles creating angular patterns. Small gold bars add metallic glints against the detailed red, white, blue, green, black, and brown tesserae, creating a unique pattern. Dainty spherical details adorn the sides of the closed-back urns, right below the handles. These earrings are a work of art and would make for an incredible addition to any micro mosaic aficionado's collection.

Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 1/16" in length (including the earring wire). The urns measure approximately 1 1/4" tall, 1/2" at their widest point, and slightly more than 1/8" thick.

Condition: The earrings are in very good antique condition. Some of the micro mosaic tiles are missing, typical of wearable Victorian-era pieces, but the design is notably intact. The 14kt earring wires are a contemporary addition for security and are intact and securely set.
