Art Deco French 18kt Mixed Metals Signet Ring

SKU: MWA21870

$1,195
A signet ring can be represented by a smooth or engraved seal, or with an intaglio, which is created by carving into the surface of a stone. Its purpose would have been to seal the wax of a letter or note.

A wonderful French signet ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This piece has a stylish mixed metals design, which is crafted in 18kt yellow and white gold. A smooth, rectangular-shaped yellow gold seal rests at the center of the ring, which could be left plain or engraved if desired. The shoulders carry a geometric motif that is very representative of the Art Deco aesthetic. Stacked yellow gold chevrons meet a faceted white gold center, which then extends to the yellow gold band in the back. Two small French hallmarks can be found stamped on the exterior of the band at the back of the ring, including an eagles head (indicating the use of 18kt gold and its French origin). The simple design is both versatile and fashionable, and would be right at home in any collection. Perfect for everyday wear, this wonderful unisex ring could be worn by a man or woman!

Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 10, but could be resized. The square-shaped seal in the center measures 3/8" across. The band measures 3.5mm wide at the back.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the mixed metals setting.
