A wonderful sterling silver ring box from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This lovely and unusual piece is made of solid sterling silver and has a simple yet attractive design. The outside of the locket is smooth, with a push-button closer and a flared base. A set of engraved initials on the top of the lid read "JGM," contained within a geometric border. The hinged box opens to reveal a fabric-lined interior and velvet pad with a ring slot. The words "WRIGHT, KAY & CO. JEWELERS DETROIT" are stamped inside the lid, indicating that this lovely box was crafted in North Attleboro, Massachusets by R. Blackington & Co. for the historic Wright-Kay Jewelers company that operated between 1920-1978 in Detroit, Michigan. Stamped underneath the box are the hallmarks "STERLING," a series of maker's marks, and "7715." An interesting and attractive Deco piece, it makes a unique collector's piece and is perfect for storing a special ring inside!

Measurements: The flared base of the box measures 1 3/4" by 1 1/2". The lid of the box measures1 3/8" by 1 1/4". The box stands 1 5/8" tall.

Condition: The overall condition of the box is excellent. There is some normal light surface wear to the sterling silver setting, which is very minor, and free of any noticeable dents or scratches. The button clasp and hinged lid are secure and in good working condition. The original fabric-lined interior shows signs of age but remains intact. There is a light natural patina on the surface of the silver, which is normal for a vintage piece but could be polished if desired.
