Victorian 15kt Yellow & Rose Gold Horseshoe Necklace
A fabulous gold horseshoe necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is made of 15kt gold (indicating English origin) and has a striking three dimensional design. The horseshoe has a smooth yellow gold surface with a raised rose gold nail design. The horseshoe hangs from a 14kt yellow gold chain that fastens in the back with a simple spring ring clasp. The back of the horseshoe is set in rose gold and is stamped with several hallmarks, including and anchor, "15", "625", "BJS" and "M." A very fashionable and attractive piece, it blends seamlessly into modern day fashion and would look perfect worn everyday! Measurements: The horseshoe measures 1 1/4" tall, 1 1/8" wide at the widest point, and has a depth of 1/8". The chain measures approximately 18.5" long, but can also be worn 16.5" long with an extension in the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold horseshoe pendant or to the gold chain. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
