Vintage 9kt Glass "Evil Eye" Caged Ball Charm Pendant

Belief in the evil eye dates back to classical antiquity and beliefs have always varied across different regions and periods. Today, many cultures and individuals wear, own, or carry talismans to ward off the curse of the evil eye. The symbol was sometimes incorporated into jewelry, allowing the wearer to always be protected.

A wonderful Vintage charm depicting the classic evil eye symbol! Crafted in 9kt rose gold, this 3-dimensional piece is substantial in size and features a vibrant pattern which carries along the entire surface. With a total of six, white glass "eyeballs," each featuring a blue iris and black pupil, are symmetrically set along the center of the open caged wirework design. Lightly scalloped bezels hold the glass eyes in place, and small blue glass accent beads can be found set throughout. A polished round cap decorates the bottom and top of the piece, where a textured split ring bail rests. Whether worn on a favorite chain or charm bracelet, this unique and fabulous "evil eye" pendant would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The charm/pendant hangs about 1 1/2" long (including the bail at the top), and measures approximately 1" in diameter.  

Condition: The charm/pendant is in good overall Vintage condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the rose gold setting and the split ring bail is secure and in good working order. All of the glass beads and eyeballs are intact and securely set, and are free of any chips or scratches, however, there are some visible air bubbles along the surface of some, which is not uncommon to find in hand blown glass.
