Born in Belgium in 1959 and graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1981, fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester quickly made her name in the European design world for her striking, deconstructionist look. As part of the Antwerp Six design group, she burst onto the scene in the late 1980s and helped establish the non-traditional style of Belgian design in the late 20th century. She has since built her design house on her stark, deeply personal work with apparel, housewares, and jewelry.
This sterling silver ring is a fabulous example of Ann Demeulemeester's unique work. Approximately from the late 1990's era, this wonderful piece is crafted of sterling silver and features a large, highly polished mirror surface on the face of the ring. The mirror is surrounded by a dark, ribbed border, providing a stark contrast for the reflective surface within. On the underside of the ring is the signature "Ann Demeulemeester", "925", and the letter "M". This fabulous piece would make a great addition to any modern woman's collection!
Measurements: The large, rectangular mirror face measures approximately 5/8" wide, 1 1/2" tall and has a depth of 1/8". The ring has a finger size of 6 but it could easily be resized. The band measures approximately 9mm wide in the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver or the mirror surface.
