This rare and unusual necklace is a wonderful antique compilation piece! The beautiful design features a variety of colorful links and beads, which have been expertly restrung to form a decorative statement accessory. Included in the ensemble of links are Predynastic blue, red, green and clear beads, which alternate with gold urn links from the Victorian (ca1880) era. At the center of the strand is an ornate gold pendant, complete with dangling spears that hang freely from the bottom. The pendant and urns are crafted in vibrant 22kt gold, and are adorned with fine Etruscan wirework and beadwork accents, providing eye-catching texture. When worn, the necklace drapes beautifully at the neckline, fastening with a gold hook clasp in the back. The combination of high karat gold with the colorful ancient beads is simply spectacular, and would make a truly one-of-a-kind addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 16" in total length. The gold pendant at the center is 1" wide and measures 1 1/8" from top to bottom (including the hanging spears). The gold urns are 5/8" tall and 1/4" wide. The handmade ancient beads vary in size and shape, with the clear beads averaging 1/2" long and 3/8" wide. The blue beads average 3/8" long and 1/16" thick. The red and green spacer beads are 1/16" thick.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent overall condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the beads or links. The stringing is secure, and the clasp is in good working order. Due to the age and handmade nature of each bead and link, they vary slightly in size, shape, and appearance, which adds to the organic beauty of the design.
