A one-of-a-kind diamond ring from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Crafted in platinum, this ring features a central, square-shaped centerpiece. The centerpiece features a central, prong-set, .45ct, old European cut diamond. The sparkling stone displays H/I color and VS2 clarity, and is further surrounded by a square-shaped frame. The remainder of the centerpiece is adorned with small, bead-set old single cut diamonds. In total, the single cut diamonds have a joint carat weight of .85ctw, and display I/J color and VS1-VS2 clarity. The centerpiece is further decorated with geometric cutouts, which continue onto the top and bottom edge of the square-shaped face. The side of the centerpiece features a discrete latch, that allows the ring to open, revealing a locket compartment! Therefore, the wearer could insert a small photograph or memento into the inner compartment. The remainder of the band is smooth and simple, and the inside of the shank features a "10% IRID PLAT" purity mark. A truly wonderful ring, this piece would make a fabulous addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring is currently a size 8.25, but could easily be resized. The centerpiece has a height of 5/8" and a width of 3/4". The band has a width of 1.77mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the platinum setting, and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The locket latch is secure and in working order.
