A lovely sapphire and diamond ring from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! Crafted in platinum, this ring features 2, horizontally-set Ceylon sapphires. The oval-cut sapphires display an incredible cornflower blue hue, and are both held within two-prong settings. Together, the large sapphires have an approximate total carat weight of 2.25ctw. The sapphires have not been treated with heat. The shoulders and gallery of the ring feature fantastic cutouts, which include swirling and marquise-shaped motifs. The shoulders and gallery of the ring are also encrusted with a variety of old European and single cut diamonds, with all of the small stones being held within bead-settings. Together, the smaller diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of .80ctw. The remainder of the band is smooth and simple, and the inside of the shank is marked with a "PLAT" purity mark. A magnificent ring, this piece would look lovely worn on any finger!
Measurements: The ring is a finger size 6.5, but could easily be resized. The band has a width of 1.7mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the platinum setting, and all of the stones are intact and securely set.
