An absolutely lovely abalone pendant from the Art Nouveau (ca1900s) era! This beautiful piece is crafted in sterling topped 14kt yellow gold and features a gorgeous black abalone shell at its center. The iridescent shell is bezel set and displays vibrant dark rainbow hues that shift with each turn in the light. Framing the shell is an open channel followed by a sparkling border of old Rose Cut diamonds. Four luscious rubies in diamond shaped box settings adorn the border in a north-south-east-west pattern, perfectly complementing the abalone's rich hues. The pendant hangs from a bail decorated with four additional Rose Cut diamonds, completing the look and the back reveals a smoothly polished gold surface. A fabulous piece, the pendant is ready to be paired with a favorite chain and would make a stunning addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 3/8" long including the bail, and measures about 3/4" wide and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and silver setting. The abalone shell, the diamonds, and the rubies are all intact and securely set. The bail is secure and in excellent working condition.
