A fantastic necklace from the Art Nouveau (ca1900s) era! Crafted in vibrant 18k yellow gold, this necklace is comprised of alternating ellipse-shaped links and highly-ornate panel links. The surface of each ellipse-shaped link is smooth and simple, and the panel links feature a lovely, delicate scrolling-motif cutout design. The piece secures with a spring ring clasp, which is marked with French hallmarks. However, the piece could be doubled and slipped on and off easily over the wearer's head without utilizing the clasp. A gorgeous piece, this chain necklace would look lovely worn alone, or paired with other antique chains.
Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures 61.5" long. The piece has a weight of 14.5dwt.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the chain or gold panel links, and the spring ring clasp is secure and in working order.
