A stunning opal and diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910s) era! This piece is crafted in 14k yellow gold and topped in platinum. The center of the ring features a stunning black opal cabochon, which is held within a bezel-setting. The opal displays incredible flashes of red, green, yellow, and blue. The opal is surrounded by an oval-shaped filigree frame, which is decorated with small bead-set rose cut diamonds, and swirling-motifs. Each shoulder of the ring features an additional bead-set rose cut diamond. The remainder of the band is smooth and simple. A one-of-a-kind ring, this piece would make a fantastic addition to any Edwardian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring is a size 6, but could easily be resized up or down if desired. The oval-shaped centerpiece measures 3/4" tall, 7/16" wide, and rests 5/16" high. The tapered band measures 1mm wide in the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum-topped gold setting or filigree details. The opal cabochon and diamond accents remain intact, securely set, and free of any apparent chips or scratches.
