A very unusual ring from the Edwardian (ca1912) era! This unique ring is crafted in vibrant 18k yellow gold, and features a rectangular-shaped centerpiece, which is adorned with a checkerboard-design. The checkerboard-design is comprised of alternating rubies and diamonds. The rubies have an approximate total carat weight of 1.80ctw and display a bold pinkish-red hue. The diamonds, which are all old single cuts, have an approximate total carat weight of .75ctw. All of the stones are held within bead or prong-settings, and the remainder of the band is smooth and simple. The inside of the shank is stamped with a variety of hallmarks, which include a crown-motif, the number "18", an anchor, and the letter "n". These hallmarks indicate that the piece was crafted in Birmingham, England in the year 1912. A playful and colorful ring, this piece would make a one-of-a-kind addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring is a size 7, but could easily be resized. The band has a width of 2.7mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold setting. All of the stones are intact and securely set.
