A beautiful and symbolic gemstone pendant from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This delicate charm is crafted in platinum and 14kt gold, creating a lovely 2-tone effect. The ellipse-shaped piece features a gemstone encrusted border, with sparkling accent diamonds lining the sides, and calibrated rubies resting at the top and bottom. A cutout opening at the center of the charm reveals an unusual motif: a fancy golden gate is depicted with the number "21" decorating the doors, which are shown slightly parted. The back of the piece reveals the gold insert, which rests inside the platinum border, and is stamped with a "14" purity mark. At the top of the pendant is a simple platinum bail, perfect for hanging the piece from a favorite chain or charm bracelet. This unique and beautiful piece would be delightful memento for anyone who holds special meaning in the number "21," such as a milestone birthday, an anniversary, or another significant occasion!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 7/8" long, including the bail at the top. The ellipse-shaped charm itself is 3/4" tall, 1/2" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum and gold setting. All of the accent diamonds and rubies are intact, and the bail at the top is securely attached.
