An elegant pair of handmade diamond earrings from the Georgian (ca1790) era! The teardrop-shaped earrings are crafted in silver with 14k yellow gold wires, giving a lovely mixed metals appeal to the design. The surmount of the earrings feature 7 rose cut diamonds in collet settings loosely in the form of a cross. Dangling from the surmounts are teardrops composed of 10 more rose cut diamonds set in sterling collets. Within each teardrop dangle hang 3 more graduating rose cut diamonds, giving this pair of earrings amazing movement and flash with every turn of the head! Collectively, the 42 assorted rose cut diamonds weigh an estimated 1.65ctw and display a range in color of I-K, I clarity.
When worn, the earrings look positively breathtaking, providing a dramatic sparkling array as they catch the light! Simple gold wires complete the design. The gold wires are not original to the earrings. The earrings have a timeless appeal, and would look stunning worn on special occasions or everyday!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2" long (including the wires at the top), and measure roughly 1/2" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The wires are secure and in good working condition.
