A gorgeous chain necklace from the Georgian (ca1750s) era! Crafted in 15kt yellow gold, this chain is comprised of interlocking oval links that are woven together to create a twisted rope design. The chain fastens at an ornate clasp, inset with four vibrant turquoise oval cabochons in collet settings. The turquoise displays a variety of shades from a light blue to a vibrant robin's egg blue. Securing the necklace is a clasp featuring ornate Etruscan detail, striking the perfect balance between the delicate golden spirals and spheres. Thanks to its generous length, the necklace can be slipped on and even doubled overhead. A beautiful example of Georgian-era jewelry, this chain would be an incredible addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 41" in length and is slightly less than 3/16" in diameter.
The necklace is in excellent antique condition. The turquoise stones are intact and securely set. The push clasp is secure and in good working condition.
