An exquisite opal and diamond ring from the Retro (ca1940) era! This breathtaking ring is made of 14k yellow gold and platinum, and features an alluring prong-set opal cabochon at the center of a sparkling diamond halo. The 5.50ct opal is simply mesmerizing, displaying a magnificent rainbow of iridescent colors in shades of green, blue, violet, orange, and gold. The colors are incredibly vibrant and flash when turned in the light, almost as if glowing from within the center of the stone. The opal is surrounded by 16 old mine cut diamonds, which are held within platinum shared prong settings and form a beautiful sparking border! The diamonds display I-J color and are within the VS1/SI1 clarity range, and have an approximate total carat weight of 3.00ctw. Completing the design is a smooth gold band, which is stamped "14K" inside the shank. The opal stone is truly beautiful and has an almost magical quality, especially when paired with such a dazzling diamond border. When worn, the ring looks simply outstanding and would make a very special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 7.5, but could easily be resized up or down as desired. The opal and diamond centerpiece measures approximately 1" tall, 3/4" wide, and 1/2" high. The back of the band measures approximately 2mm wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or platinum setting. The center opal and diamonds are all secure and intact.
