In French, fleur-de-lis means "lily flower." Decorative ornaments that resemble the fleur-de-lys have appeared in artwork from the earliest human civilizations. It has consistently been used as a royal emblem, though different cultures have interpreted its meaning in various ways.
A beautiful fleur-de-lis ring from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This bold ring is crafted in rosy 10k gold, and features a rectangular-shaped centerpiece. The centerpiece features a bezel-set piece of onyx, which is topped with a fleur-de-list motif. The motif is adorned with bead-set seed pearls. The top and bottom edge of the bezel-setting feature a ribbed-design, and the ring's shoulders feature a flared design, and are further decorated with arrow-motif engravings and circular cutouts. The remainder of the band is smooth and simple, and the inside of the shank is stamped "ATSEP83". A unique ring, this piece would make a fantastic addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring is a size 10, but could easily be resized. The centerpiece has a height of 3/4" and a width of 5/8". The band has a width of 5.73mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The onyx, and pearls are all secure and intact.
