The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection.
A unique snake bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 10k rosy gold and sterling silver, the front of this bracelet features the intertwining bodies of two serpents. One of the serpents is crafted in sterling silver, and is encrusted with bead-set round cut synthetic sapphires. The other serpent is crafted in rosy gold, and is encrusted with channel-set emerald cut synthetic emeralds. A single bezel-set sapphire is nestled between the twisting bodies of the snakes. Interestingly, both of the serpents' eyes are represented by synthetic sapphires. The piece is secured by a simple push clasp, and is accompanied by a figure eight safety mechanism. An impressive example of Victorian-era craftsmanship, this bracelet would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The interior of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/4" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is good. There are a few small dents on the gold bracelet. However, all of the synthetic stones are secure and intact, and the push clasp and figure eight safety are both in working order.
