A wonderful charm necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, this necklace begins with a dainty cable chain, which secures with a lobster claw clasp. The clasp is marked with a "14KT" purity mark, and the word "ITALY". The chain is decorated with 5 unique charms, which add to the one-of-a-kind design of the piece. The first charm depicts a three-leaf clover, and is adorned with 3 small coral cabochons. The coral stones display a lovely dark salmon hue. The next charm features a dogtooth pearl, which is topped with a snake-motif cap. The third, and central, charm depicts a woman adorned in a large headdress. The woman's face is represented by a carved amethyst stone, and the top of the headdress features a small prong-set single cut diamond. The gold headdress is decorated with intricate, texturizing engravings. The fourth charm features an additional dogtooth pearl, which is topped with a foliage-motif cap. The leaves of the cap feature small, bead-set seed pearls. The final charm depicts a small trefoil-motif, which is represented by 3 prong-set moonstone cabochons. The moonstones display lovely flashes of gray and blue. All of the charms are stationed on the necklace, and do not move freely along the chain. A timeless charm necklace, this piece would make an exquisite addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures 18" in total length.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold chain, and the lobster claw clasp is secure and in working order. All of the charms and stones are intact and securely set.
