Victorian 18k Diamond & Ruby Heart-Motif Pendant Necklace

A romantic pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18k yellow and white gold, this piece begins with a simple paperclip chain, which secures with a spring ring clasp stamped "750". The chain is accompanied by a brilliant, heart-shaped pendant, which is encrusted with bead-set diamonds. The diamonds vary in cut, including transitional, old mine, and old European cut stones. The side of the pendant features a border of channel-set, square cut rubies, which display an incredibly luscious red hue. Together, the rubies have an approximate total carat weight of 1.50ctw. The backside of the heart-shaped pendant is smooth and simple, and the top of the piece is completed by a bail encrusted with bead-set diamonds. Together, the diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of 4.75ctw, and display H/I color and VS1-SI1 clarity.
