A fabulous heart-motif padlock locket bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 9k gold, this beautiful bracelet is comprised of alternating Mariner-stye links and diamond faceted rolo-style links. The mariner links are decorated with swirling and foliage-motif engravings, and feature diamond faceted edges. The center of the piece features a heart-shaped padlock locket, which is centered by a large, bezel-set garnet cabochon. The garnet displays a deep red hue, and the remaining front surface of the padlock locket features swirling-motif engravings. The backside of the locket features similar engravings, and a glass frame and compartment, which currently holds a lock of hair. The padlock locket allows the piece to open and close easily, and the bracelet is further secured by a complimentary safety chain. A unique piece, this bracelet would make a special gift for any antique jewelry collector!
Measurements: The bracelet measures 8" long. The heart-motif padlock has a height of 1 3/8" and a width of 3/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold links, and the padlock mechanism is secure and in working order. The garnet cabochon, glass locket frame, and safety chain are all secure and intact.
