An adorable pair of French earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18k yellow gold and platinum, each earring begins with a bezel-set rose cut (.10ctw) diamond surmount. The earrings then feature a highly-intricate, engraved cherub link. Each cherub is depicted in loose, flowing garments and features short, curly locks. Each cherub is also shown holding a bow in one arm, and an arrow in the other. The backside of each cherub-shaped link is smooth and simple, and the earrings are completed by simple lever backs. The side of each lever back is stamped with an "A" and a dog's head maker's mark, which signifies that the earrings were originally crafted in Paris, France! A romantic pair, these earrings would make a lovely gift for any significant other!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 3/8" long including the wires. They measure 1/2" at their widest.
Condition: The earrings are in overall excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum setting. Both of the diamonds are intact and securely set, and the lever backs are in working order.
