An exquisite coral festoon necklace from the Victorian (ca1800s) era! Crafted in gold-fill, this necklace begins with two strands of coral beads, which graduate in size, but all display an incredible salmon-toned hue. All of the coral beads are strung and individually knotted on coral thread. The two strands reconvene at the center of the necklace at a large, elaborate centerpiece. The centerpiece features three coral cabochons which are organized horizontally. The central cabochon is pill-shaped, and is nestled between two circular cabochons. However, all three of the coral stones are surrounded by hand-carved coral components, which incorporate foliage and twisting wirework designs. The bottom of the centerpiece features 5 dangling extensions, which each feature circular and teardrop-shaped cabochons. The necklace secures with a simple push clasp. A breathtaking piece, this festoon necklace would be perfect for any special event or occasion!
Measurements: The necklace has a total length of 16 1/2". The centerpiece has a width of 3" and hangs 2 7/8" at its longest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. There is no visible damage to the coral beads and carved links, all of which are securely strung. The push clasp is secure and in working order.
