A bold necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This necklace is comprised of large gold-filled rolo links, which are doubled to create a thicker, sturdier chain. One end of the chain features a large, three-dimensional griffin-motif extension. The griffin is adorned with intricate engravings, which bring the creature to life! The eyes of the creature are represented by 2 bezel-set garnets. The other end of the chain features an oblong link which features a ribbed-design, and subtle engravings. A watch swivel clasp is looped through the mouth of the griffin, which allows the piece to open and close securely. A phenomenal piece, this necklace would make a fantastic addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace has a total length of 16". The piece has a weight of 21dwt.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent condition. All of the gold-filled links are intact, and the watch swivel clasp is in working order. Both of the garnets are intact and securely set.
