Victorian Sterling Banded Agate + Amethyst "M" Fob

A wonderful fob from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! An intricately engraved sterling silver setting displays a foliate motif, decorated by a faceted amethyst intaglio carved with the letter "M". It sits atop a flared banded agate stone that displays a lovely gradient of browns and white. A silver band encircles the fob, attached to a simple bail, ready to attach the piece to a favorite chain. This delicate fob is perfect for the Victorian collector!
Measurements: The fob measures approximately 1 1/8" tall and slightly more than 5/16" at its flared base.
Condition: The fob is overall in very good condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. There is a minuscule chip to the corner of the flared banded agate, but this is not visible when worn nor does it impact the beauty or integrity of the piece. The amethyst intaglio is intact and securely set. The silver band and bail are secure and in good working condition.
