A lovely and colorful pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful oval-shaped piece is crafted in sterling silver and displays a beautiful image of the Virgin Mary on the front. The hand painted enameled picture features wonderful details, including rosy pink skin, draped fabric of her rich blue and white shawl, and a beautiful golden background. Surrounding the imagine is a gorgeous scrolled design, featuring swirled etching and delicate milgrain details. Resting at the top is a simple bail, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain, and stamped on the smoothly polished back is the letter "A." A lovely Victorian piece that would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/2" long (including the bail at the top), measures 7/8" wide, and is 1/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting. The enamel is free of chips or scratches, which is remarkable given its age. The bail is secure and in good working condition.
