A romantic heart locket from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This heart-shaped locket is crafted in sterling silver, and features a lovely repoussé border on both the front and back. The three-dimensional repoussé detailing incorporates swirling and floral-motifs, and adds a wonderful look to the locket. The top of the piece features a complimentary bail, which would allow the piece to easily attach to a favorite sterling chain. The side of the piece features a rectangular latch, which allows the locket to open and close securely. The interior of the piece features two heart-shaped compartments, which are covered with cellulose frames. The backside of the locket is stamped "STERLING SILVER". An elegant and timeless locket, this piece would make a wonderful gift for any loved one!
Measurements: The locket has a height of 1 1/4" (including the bail) and has a width of 1".
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting, and the bail is secure and in working order. The latch which opens and closes the locket is intact and in working order.
