A fabulous silver book chain locket necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This wonderful piece feature a lovely book chain, which is comprised of alternating ellipse and rectangular-shaped links. The ellipse-shaped links are smooth and simple, and the rectangular links feature a lovely star-motif cutout design. The center of the necklace features a large spring ring, which features a complementary square-shaped locket. The locket is decorated with a shield-motif, and raised star-motifs, and opens with a small button at the side of the pendant. An eye-catching piece, this book chain locket necklace would make a splendid addition to any Victorian-era collection!
Measurements: The chain measures 17" long, and the pendant measures 1" tall and 7/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the book chain necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting. The locket is in excellent condition, and opens and closes securely. The spring ring is intact and in working order.
