An unusual pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this piece features a large central acorn pendant, which is decorated with a wonderful foliate repoussé pattern. A lovely patina adds depth to the design, and the acorn holds a secret; the cap unscrews from the nut, revealing a place to hold a favorite memento or trinket! The acorn is attached to a complementary chain, which features a watch swivel clasp. The swivel clasp is stamped with a "STER" purity mark, and the inside of the acorn is stamped "STERLING", "A", and "25". A unique pendant necklace, this piece would make a fantastic addition to any Victorian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The pendant measures 1 7/8" tall and has a width of 1". The chain measures 24".
Condition: The pendant necklace is in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver repoussé setting. The complementary bail, chain, and watch swivel clasp are all secure and in order. The acorn opens and closes securely.
