Art Deco Platinum Step-Up Diamond Engagement Ring 0.40ct
A stunning diamond engagement ring from the Art Deco (ca1920s) era! This platinum ring has a beautiful "step-up" mounting that features a .40ct old European Cut diamond in the center. The center diamond rests in a square prong setting, and has J color and VS2 clarity. There is a border above and below the center stone, and three "steps" resting at each shoulder, which are graduated in size and lined with single cut diamonds. The accent diamonds are bead set and add a wonderful sparkling appearance that compliments the center stone perfectly. Together, the single cut diamonds weigh approximately .025 ctw and have G-H range color and VS range clarity. Completing the design is a swirled filigree pattern along the edge of the setting, and a smooth tapered band stamped "PLAT" inside the shank. The ring was appraised by an independent and accredited GIA certified gemologist in March 2016 and has a stated retail replacement value of $2,700.00. A wonderful Art Deco piece, it would make a simply gorgeous engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.5, but could be re-sized up or down. The step-up centerpiece of the ring measures about 3/8" tall, 3/4" wide, and sits 3/16" above the finger at the the highest point when worn.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting or to any of the diamonds, all of which are intact.
