A fantastic pearl and amethyst necklace from the Arts & Crafts (ca1910) era! At the center of the piece is a large, oval-shaped pendant that is made of sterling silver. Bezel-set in the center of the pendant is a large, faceted amethyst stone. Hand wrought, it is richly detailed with Etruscan wirework and beadwork and has a fabulous three-dimensional look. Framing the vibrant center stone and resting within the ornate wirework are 6 sections of lustrous seed pearls. Dangling from the bottom are 11 sterling and seed pearl strands which move beautifully and a 2nd, slightly smaller amethyst stone is set amidst the strands, completing the beautiful look of the necklace perfectly. The wonderful pendant hangs from a simple sterling chain which has a simple hook clasp at the back. This fantastic necklace is a true statement piece and would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain of the necklace measures approximately 16.25" long. The pendant hangs approximately 3 1/8" long, a little more than 1" wide and about 1/4” thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace and pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver, and both stones and pearls are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
