Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Blister Pearl Dragon Ring
This unusual double dragon ring from the Arts & Crafts Era (ca1900) is simply mesmerizing! Crafted in sterling silver, the design features two slithering dragons that are artfully coiled around a natural blister pearl at the center. The large, round pearl has wonderful creamy iridescent color and a lustrous surface and rests in a bezel setting accented by dragon claw prongs. Hand engraved detail on the surface of the sterling depicts individual scales, adding texture and depth to the design and each dragon has gemstone eyes, one with garnets, the other with green agate. The bodies and tails of both dragons form the band, and their necks and heads encircle the pearl center to form a shapely flowing appearance. Perfect for any snake lover, this artistic ring would make a stylish addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6, but could be resized slightly if desired. The pearl and dragon centerpiece measures approximately 3/4" wide and a little less than 7/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or to the blister pearl, which is intact and secure in its setting. There is a natural darkened patina present on the surface of the silver, which is normal and adds depth to the design.
