Victorian Sterling/14kt Diamond Starburst Pin & Pendant 1.00ctw
A spectacular diamond starburst from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is made of sterling-topped 14kt gold and has a convertible design that can be worn in two beautiful ways: either as a pin or a hanging pendant. The diamond-encrusted surface features old mine cut and rose cut diamonds, all of which are bead set in sterling silver. Twelve starburst rays emerge from the center, each lined with delicate stones that surround the largest diamond at the center. Together, the diamonds all have an approximate total carat weight of 1.00ctw combined. The versatility of the design is a wonderful feature! On the back of the piece is a removable screw-in pin clasp, which can be used to fasten the piece to a favorite garment and wear it as a brooch. A removable bail at the top can be attached to a gold hook, which is hidden on the back of the star. The diamond bail compliments the starburst beautifully, and is perfect for hanging the piece from a favorite chain to wear it as a pendant. This breathtaking piece is perfect for special occasions, and is a stunning example of Victorian starburst motif jewelry!
Measurements: The starburst has a 1" diameter, and its concave surface measures 1/4" in depth. When worn as a pendant, the piece hangs 1 3/8" long, including the diamond bail.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling-topped gold setting. All of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The removable pin clasp and bail are both secure and in good working condition.
