Victorian 14kt Etruscan Micro Mosaic Flower Earrings
A beautiful pair of Italian micro mosaic earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each earring has a decorative 14kt gold setting that frames a micro mosaic image at the center. The detailed image depicts a colorful group of flowers and leaves above a solid black background. Each tiny micro mosaic glass tile is individually hand cut and glued in place to form the overall design, which illustrates the impressive handiwork needed to achieve such a lovely result. Surrounding the image is a delicate beadwork border, while an Etruscan wirework surmount at the top provides the perfect finishing touch. The earrings hang from gold wires and comfortably lightweight when worn, dangling with lovely movement. They are stunning examples of Italian Victorian artistry, and would make a special addition to any micro mosaic collection!
Measurements: The earrings hangs approximately 1 1/2" long, including the wires. The oval micro mosaic links are 3/4" tall, 1/2" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or Etruscan details. The micro mosaic images are intact, and the gold wires at the top are securely attached.
