Victorian 14kt Turquoise & Etruscan Bead Necklace
A truly stunning turquoise necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely and feminine piece is set in 14kt gold and features a row of seven graduated turquoise cabochons that grace the front. Each cabochon is bezel set and connected by two strands of chain that line the top and bottom. Delicate gold Etruscan beads alternate with the turquoise stones, which are a lovely accent with fine wirework detail. The turquoise stones display a natural range of brilliant blue and luscious sea green colors, marbled with natural mineral spider webbing throughout. A single strand of gold chain completes the design and fastens in the back with a large gold spring ring clasp. A strong Victorian piece, it drapes elegantly at the neckline when worn and would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 16" long. The graduated turquoise stones vary in size, with the largest center cabochon measuring 7/8" tall and 3/4" wide. The smallest outer stones are 1/2" tall and 3/8" wide. The Etruscan beads measure approximately 3mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or turquoise cabochons, all of which are intact. A natural patina is present on the surface of some of the Etruscan beads and chain, which gives the gold a darkened appearance common in Victorian era jewelry. The spring ring clasp is secure and in good working condition.
