Victorian 18kt Agate & Diamond Horse Hoof Necklace
A fabulous and unusual horse hoof necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece is comprised of a horse hoof pendant that hangs from an 18kt gold chain. The horse hoof is hand carved from a piece of agate, which is smoothly polished and has a rich natural color. Resting on top of the pendant is a horseshoe formed by a row of sparkling rose cut diamonds! A smooth gold ring encircles the opposite side of the horse hoof, and a fluted gold bail is attached to the top. The gold chain fastens in the back with a barrel push clasp, and a safety chain and spring ring catch provides extra security when worn. This beautiful necklace would be perfect for the equestrian enthusiast, and would make a lovely addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The chain measures 16" long. The horse hoof pendant hangs 1" long (including the bail), measures 3/4" wide, and is 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, carved agate, or rose cut diamonds, all of which are intact. The push clasp and safety catch are secure and in good working condition.
