Victorian 18kt Amber Day & Night Etruscan Earrings

SKU: 38484

A gorgeous pair of amber earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each of these earrings has a convertible "day & night" design that incorporates a teardrop base and faceted bead topper. The 18kt yellow gold Etruscan setting combines with rich, vibrant orange amber for a breathtaking result! The removable surmounts have hinged gold lever back wires that clasp in the front in a traditional Victorian fashion. An Etruscan beadwork cap rests at the top and bottom of each bead. The dangling teardrop links are substantial in size and swing from a decorative Etruscan attachment. Strands of fine gold chain link to a wirework cap at the top, giving wonderful texture and movement to the design. The teardrop base can be easily removed and re-attached, allowing the earrings to merge seamlessly between a simple "day" style, or a more dramatic "night" design. No matter how they are worn, the earrings make a beautiful statement and would compliment any Victorian collection!

Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 1/8" in total length. The removable surmounts are 3/4" tall from the top of wire to the base of the bead, which is 11mm in size. The dangling base hangs 1 1/2" long (including the chain attachments) and measures 5/8" wide and thick at the teardrop base.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or Etruscan wirework details. All four amber links are intact and secure. They show only minor signs of surface wear, which is not noticeable when worn, and is normal for antique amber jewelry. The lever back wires fasten securely and are in good working condition.
