Victorian 18kt Silver Diamond Starburst Pin/Pendant 4.50ctw
An exquisite diamond starburst pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning piece is made of silver-topped 18kt yellow gold and forms the shape of a large 8-point starburst. The star has an overlapping design comprised of two 4-point stars, one resting on top of the other. Lining the rays of the starburst are sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds, creating a dazzling, diamond-encrusted effect! The diamonds are graduated, with the largest stones in the center and the most delicate stones accenting the tips. All together, the diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of 4.50ctw combined. Resting on the back of the piece is a secure gold bar pin and hinged loop bail in the very center. A very dramatic piece, it has a strong Victorian look and makes a breathtaking statement when worn!
Measurements: The starburst measures 1 3/4" tall and wide, and is approximately 3/8" thick. The overall pennyweight of the piece is 8.6 dwt.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin/pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting, and all of the diamonds are intact. The flip bail and pin clasp are both secure and in good working condition.
